Joan Boutilier is an experienced music teacher with a degree in Music Education from the University of New Mexico. She has been a member of Sweet Adelines International since 1989 and the front-line director of the Choral-Aires since 1996. At the 1997 Region 3 competition, Joan earned the title of Master Director. Since then, she has repeatedly taken the Choral-Aires Chorus to International.

She is also an active quartet and chorus coach, sharing her skills and love of four-part harmony with other singers. Joan is an "Approved Candidate Judge" in the Sweet Adelines International Judging program in the Sound Category. She is also a member of the internationally appointed committee, the Director Education Coordinators (DEC).

Joan's love of four-part harmony shines when directing this dynamic and entertaining chorus.

...and if you think her shoes are cool...you should see her socks!
